Oh Geez...

I know. It's been WAY too long since I updated the babyblog... Cut me some slack! It's not easy chasing after an insane toddler... I'll just say, lots has happened. Miles decided to join the walking just a few days before his first birthday...and ever since then, we've been running nonstop. It's not easy keeping up with him sometimes. He's become quite the little man. He's very independant, very curious, and very vocal. He has a pretty big vocabulary for a 15 month old. He's hilarious and sweet. He looks just like his daddy with his brown eyes and huge smile. He spends his days eating (and thorowing) truckloads of fruits, veggies and funny little crackers, throwing his basketball around the room, moving blocks and rubber duckies and puzzle pieces from here to there one by one, reading lots of books, falling down sometimes, eating grass and clover at the park, saying HI to everyone we pass on the street, and trying to stand up in the bath tub. Miles rules...

Miles!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life is crazy around here! Miles will be one year old on March 4th...which is beyond hard to believe. Time has just flown. Every day he says more and more words. The current words in heavy rotation are Ball..Shoe...mama...dada...HI...I'm Tired...What's That...Where'd he/it go...byebye...Duck...(and the big one...) "WHAT'S THAT?" He points at everything a 100 times and asks what it is. Teaching a little person the names of everything is pretty profound. His curiousity is so big. Miles also learned to point to himself and say his name, which is really cool. He's also been known to say Grandma and his Auntie's name Angela (well, he says "Angie.")

Miles is also exploring the entire house (except for the office which is a lot like The Bermuda Triangle.) He moves along holding on to the wall or anything else he can get his hands on. when he has nothing to hold onto he drops down and crawls. He's taking many steps at a time on his own before sitting and is very close to walking more and more. It's so fun to watch his progression as he gets more and more confident of his abilities.

Miles is such a funny and happy little guy. He makes every day fun and has brought so much pure happiness into our lives. Last night Brian and I went out to dinner (Grandma babysat) and we found ourselves laughing and gushing about our little boy for most of the night. We also had to laugh as we spent a good ten minutes disscussing various Sesame Street characters and storylines. It's funny how much things change.

We're so blessed.

Good Golly, Miles is (almost) 9 months old!!!

It's really REALLY hard to believe that almost nine months has passed since Brian and I were in the hospital bringing Miles into the world. It's flown by.....and it's been an absolutely amazing experience that is hard to put into words. Getting to know Miles and see the person that he is slowly emerge has been life changing. Every day he shows me a little more and he's such a sweet, funny, wild, and SMART little guy. Here are a few recent pictures of him. He has his 9 month well-baby appointment next week. I'll post his updated stats when I get them...

A Six Month Old Boy!!!

It's really hard to believe that Miles is six months old. Time has just been flying by. He seems to change and gain new skills everyday. Miles now weighs over 17 lbs. and is sitting up and playing with his toys, as well as scooting around. It's a challenge already, but Brian and I are very excited to see him get around on his own. He's just a beautiful boy with a very sweet and funny personality. He's very ticklish and laughs all the time.................except for his bad teething days. We're just praying for those teeth to break through soon. It's obviously tough on him (and us!) Another exciting development is that Miles is too big for his co-sleeper and is now in a crib. It's a bit of an adjustment for me as I was used to waking up and seeing him next to me all the time. Of course he's still in our bedroom, so he's not too far away ;)

Miles has been playing with his friends Von, Violet, and Finn. He's VERY excited to be around other babies and has to be watched very closely as he seems to want to poke his fingers in their ears and generally gobble them up. It will be so exciting to see them all start to play together as they get older!
